Arsenal plan to make a fresh attempt to reach an agreement with Mesut Ozil that would see the midfielder cancel the final months of his contract at the Emirates, with the Daily Mail reporting that they failed to come to an arrangement in the last fortnight.
It is currently difficult to see Ozil playing for Mikel Arteta’s side again. As noted by the Mail, he has been left out of the Gunners’ Europa League squad. His last appearance for the club came back in March.

The Mail reports that his £350,000-a-week contract expires next summer. However, Arsenal are seemingly hoping that ties will be cut before then.
According to the Mail, the Gunners attempted to cancel Ozil’s contract in the last two weeks. But the 31-year-old demanded that he receive the full £3 million remaining on his deal.

It is suggested that Arsenal are unlikely to be able to offload Ozil before January. But they do plan to make a fresh attempt in the hope that they have more success.
TBR View: Ozil’s Arsenal career overshadowed by sad end
It is surely fair to say that Ozil’s Arsenal career has largely been overshadowed by how his stay in North London looks set to end.
In all honestly, it is becoming easier and easier to forget how good the former Germany international was at times.
There is surely no question that it is best for all if an agreement that sees Ozil leave is reached.
