Arsenal have scouted Celtic star Odsonne Edouard extensively, with Goal reporting that a new striker is on Mikel Arteta’s radar heading into the coming windows.
It has obviously been a difficult season for the Gunners. And their lack of goals is one of the issues that Arteta will be hoping to address in the future.

Goal reports that Alexandre Lacazette’s future needs to be resolved. As noted by Transfermarkt, his contract at the Emirates expires at the end of next season.
It remains to be seen if Lacazette could extend his stay with the Gunners. But it appears that Arsenal have their eye on a potential replacement.
According to Goal, Arsenal have scouted Edouard extensively. It is suggested however, that a January move is extremely unlikely and Arteta is expected to look at strengthening his options up front in the summer.

Edouard, of course, will not come cheap. The Daily Mail reported in August that Celtic wanted at least £40 million.
He has scored 12 goals in 24 appearances in all competitions for the Hoops. And given that he is just 22, it is difficult to imagine that Celtic’s asking price will have dropped too much.
What may help Arsenal is Edouard’s own contract situation. Transfermarkt shows that his deal at Parkhead expires in 2022.
That may force Celtic into a difficult position in the summer. If he decides that he does not want to sign a new deal, it may make sense to cash in at the end of this season.
But if he is available, it is unlikely that Arsenal will be the only interested party.
