Report: Arsenal have Salzburg ace Patson Daka on their radar

Salzburg striker Patson Daka is on the radar of Arsenal ahead of future transfer windows, according to Football London.

The in-form goal machine is one of the hottest properties in European football after some impressive performances in Austria.

During his last 52 games, he has fired 38 goals and registered 16 assists, with his form alerting Arsenal’s rivals Tottenham during January.

Daka will remain a wanted man whilst he’s in such prolific form and Arsenal might have to move quickly if they want to secure such a sought-after signature.

The 21-year-old has won 18 caps for Zambia and has really stepped up to replace Dortmund star, Erling Haaland.

Daka is quick, knows where the back of the net is and is capable of playing as a lone striker or as part of a two-pronged attack.

Arsenal have Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah all vying for a place in Mikel Arteta’s team.

With two of the three typically playing at once, there is an element which suggests Arsenal would welcome the chance to add another striker.

Salzburg are thought to demand in excess of £20 million for his signature, although his current lethal form could see them increase the valuation.

Arsenal are very much a club on the up under Arteta and their form so far during 2020/21 has been superb.

Arteta has overseen three wins from four in the league, whilst the Gunners have a Carabao Cup quarter-final against Manchester City to look forward to.

Signing Daka could prove a masterstroke by the Gunners, especially if he continues his strong form in the Premier League.

At 21, he’d fit nicely with the profile of an Arteta-type player and if Edu could bring Daka to the Emirates it could prove a masterstroke.
