Report: Arsenal have made Pedro Neto their top target; talks underway
Arsenal have made Pedro Neto their top target for the final days of the summer transfer window, with The Athletic reporting that the Gunners have been in discussions with Jorge Mendes about a potential deal.
Mikel Arteta’s men are the only team in the Premier League who boast a flawless record after three games. And some of the football they have played along the way has been exceptional.
Nevertheless, they could yet strengthen further before the deadline passes. And the name at the very top of their list is Neto.
The Athletic reports that the Portuguese is Arsenal’s top target. And conversations surrounding a potential move to the Emirates have been going on for about a month.
Arsenal are yet to speak to Wolves about Neto. But Mendes has been dealing with both clubs.
The Athletic does claim that Wolves have no intention of selling the 22-year-old. However, the report suggests that some admirers may deem the arrival of Goncalo Guedes and Matheus Nunes as a sign that their stance may have softened.
Arsenal have made Neto their top target
Neto would be an unbelievably exciting signing for Arsenal. It is remarkable that he remains so young given how important he can be to Wolves’ side.
He threatened to cause all sorts of problems at Tottenham on Saturday. And he is someone with 19 goal contributions in 76 Premier League games.
Neto has been described as ‘sensational‘. And he has spoken of being a boyhood Arsenal fan. So you would imagine that he may well be open to the chance to make the move to the Emirates in the coming days.
It would certainly be another major statement from the league leaders if they could now prise Neto away from Molineux.
