CBS Sports have claimed that Arsenal have held ‘informal talks’ to sign Norwich City playmaker Emi Buendia this month – and the Argentine star is said to be ready to push through a move to the Emirates if required to do so.
Buendia, 24, has been on fire for Norwich City since joining the club in the summer of 2018. He helped Norwich gain promotion to the Premier League in 2018-19 – scoring eight and created 12 more. In the Premier League, he scored one and created seven.
Relegation has seen Buendia return to the Championship and in 19 outings, he has a had in 14 goals. The Independent claimed on Monday that Joe Willock and Reiss Nelson could be included in a deal to sign the £40million-rated playmaker.
Now, CBS say Arsenal have held initial talks over a move for Buendia and the player is desperate to swap East Anglia for North London over the course of the next few weeks. However, it remains to be seen if Arsenal will pay as much as £40million.

TBR’s view – Buendia would be a sensational Arsenal signing
But at £40million, he is far too expensive. Buendia has not produced the required form to play for Arsenal in the top flight and while he is showing enough potential to be a good signing for the Gunners – he certainly is not worth that figure.
If The Gunners can orchestrate a deal that sees them pay below £30million, it would be good business. That is, even if it means Willock or Nelson goes on loan to Carrow Road for the rest of the season. He would be a good addition, but not for £40million.
