Arsenal have been given fresh hope in their pursuit of Atletico Madrid midfielder Thomas Partey, with his management team dropping a cryptic hint on Twitter.
Reported by the Independent’s live blog today (12:20), it shows an image of the now infamous egg-timer on Twitter, posted by Partey’s management team.

The timer is a hint that something might be in the pipeline and has been used by the Gunners this season in announcing a new deal for Aubameyang and the capture of Gabriel from Lille.
It could well mean nothing, however, it is strange for Partey’s team to make such a post, unless it is purely for attention purposes.
Earlier in the day, it was believed the Gunners would miss out on both Partey and Houssem Aoaur, with Talksport claiming Arsenal were ready to back away from both deals.

However, this could indicate a potential change in tact, with a move for long-term target Partey potentially back on.
Surely not? This would send Gunners fans into a frenzy – TBR View
It looke dead and buried just a few hours ago but could Thomas Partey really end up at Arsenal afterall? It would certainly be a fine signing for the Gunners.
They need another central midfield player and Partey is the sort of powerful defensive midfield player who would slot in nicely.
However, there could also be nothing in this. It just seems to be a bit strange that it’s been posted on the day when it would get the most attention from supporters and the media.
