Arsenal are interested in signing West Ham United defender Issa Diop this summer, according to a report from the Daily Mirror.
The Hammers find themselves in a precarious situation in the Premier League. Should the season resume, David Moyes’s side will be looking to ensure that they keep themselves out of the relegation zone.

Should they go down however, it appears that they face a fight to keep their key men.
The Daily Mirror reports that the Gunners are keen on landing Diop, and hope that they may be able to get him on the cheap if the Hammers face playing Championship football next year.

The Mirror adds that the Irons will demand at least double the £22.5 million they spent on the Frenchman should they stay up. It should be noted that that fee was a then-club record for the Hammers, according to BBC Sport.
Despite West Ham’s struggles, you can certainly understand why Diop may attract attention.
TBR View – Diop remains an exciting target despite Irons’ struggles
Whoscored.com shows that Diop averages more than five clearances and 0.8 blocks per game. Only Pablo Mari and Shkodran Mustafi have cleared the ball more often per game for the Gunners.
And at 23, Diop has plenty of time to develop his game further.
And you could see why the defender may be tempted by a move to the Emirates.
Arsenal are moving in a promising direction under Mikel Arteta. But there look to be places up for grabs for new signings and young players alike.
And Diop arguably has the potential to take one of the centre-back spots in the near future if he can build on the promise that he has shown at the London Stadium.
