Report: Arsenal eyeing move for Feyenoord starlet Orkun Kokcu

Arsenal are reportedly hoping to land Feyenoord starlet Orkun Kokcu this summer.

According to The Daily Mail, the Gunners have identified the 19-year-old as a potential addition having scouted him extensively over the past 18 months.

Kokcu – a Turkey U21 international – has caught the eye with some exciting displays over the Eredivisie after making hist first-team debut in 2018.

He is now a regular in the side, and has amassed 29 appearances so far this season.

Kokcu has a deal until 2023 with the Dutch club, but the Mail claim Feyenoord would be willing to considering letting the talented youngster leave for a fee above £15 million.

They go on to say that Arsenal have concerns the youngster could draw attention to himself at Euro 2020 should he be a part of the Turkey senior squad, and therefore want to tie up a deal before the tournament starts.

TBR’s view –  Kokcu would be a brilliant buy for the future

According to WhoScored, the teenager has averaged 1.8 shots per 90 and 1.4 key passes per 90 so far this season which would suggest he’s a player who has the confidence to make things happen in the final third.

Of course, he is still quite raw and has only managed three goals and four assists, but the promise is most definitely there.

Last year he played a bit with Robin van Persie, which had to have been a pretty decent footballing education
