Arsenal will move for Ajax goalkeeper Andre Onana if his appeal against a 12-month ban is successful, according to a report from Goal.
The Gunners could be in the market for a new stopper and are monitoring the situation surrounding the Cameroon star.
He’s currently serving a 12-month ban handed to him by UEFA for using banned substances. Onana is fighting the ban, however, and is expecting a verdict from an appeal in June.

Currently, he won’t be able to play until February 2022 but if his suspension is reduced a summer move could be on the cards.
Arsenal have held a long-term interest in the goalkeeper, with the Gunners contacting his representative in January.
It was suggested recently that Bernd Leno was willing to keep his options open and as a result, Arsenal will turn their attentions towards a potential replacement.
Ajax will ask for around £12 million for Onana and if his ban is reduced to eight months he’d be able to start training with a new club in June.
With the 25-year-old having just another year to run on his deal, the Dutch champions could accept a fee in the region of £7 million.
Clubs from the Bundesliga and Ligue 1 are also monitoring the situation regarding Onana’s hearing.
TBR View: Onana could be a decent addition to Arsenal ranks
At 25, the goalkeeper fits the profile of an Arsenal signing down to the ground and he could be the club’s number one for many years to come.
Onana has played 204 times for Ajax, keeping 60 clean sheets. He was integral in the team’s run to the Champions League semi-final during 2018/19.

If his suspension is lowered then a fresh start could be beneficial for the player and given the low valuation, he could prove an absolute steal.
Leno seems unsure over whether or not he wants to stay and losing him might not be the end of the world.
Adding Onana would provide an upgrade and it’s a deal the Gunners should definitely look to do.
