Arsenal are considering signing Dinamo Zagreb’s Europa League hero Mislav Orsic when the transfer window opens, according to a report by The Times (Print Edition; 25/03; page 66)

The 28-year-old shocked Arsenal’s city rivals Tottenham by scoring a devastating hat-trick to secure a 3-2 aggregate win against Jose Mourinho’s men.

The left-winger has scored 19 goals in all competitions this season, registering eight assists in the process.

Orsic has been capped six times by the Croatia national team and looks set to become a wanted man during the summer window.

Mikel Arteta will go in search of some more signings during the summer, with creativity likely to remain the order of the day.

The boss has utilised Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Emile Smith Rowe out wide this season; with Willian and Nicolas Pepe flattering to deceive more often than not.

As a result, signing another winger or two wouldn’t be completely out of the question, with Orsic apparently on the radar.

The talented wide option has been with Zagreb since 2018, scoring 53 goals from his 123 appearances for the club.

Arteta won’t be handed a massive kitty to go shopping with and Orsic will be viewed as an affordable option to consider.

TBR View: Croatian could be an ideal signing for the Gunners

At 28 Orsic is now at his peak and the signing would perhaps go against Arsenal’s policy of signing players ahead of that period.

But, with the club not likely to be in the Champions League once again, they will need to cut their cloth accordingly.

As a result, pursuing and potentially signing Orsic could prove to be a shrewd investment by the club.

He would arrive with plenty of experience under his belt and with momentum from a quality campaign in Croatia.

Orsic is a tricky performer and he could provide just the spark which Arsenal are looking for in the final third.
