Report: Arsenal ‘expected’ to offload defender Sead Kolasinac

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta will reportedly look to offload defender Sead Kolasinac in the next transfer window.

According to the Times, the Gunners are set to have a defensive clear out ahead of next season and are looking to rebuild a vulnerable backline.

The report claims that Arteta is “expected” to sell some of the seven centre-backs in his squad, as well as powerhouse defender Kolasinac.

Kolasinac, who was signed by Arsene Wenger back in 2017 on a free transfer, is a left-back that has made 96 appearances for the North London club.

The 27-year-old is a strong full-back that joins in with the attack well, but can struggle defensively and has had his injury problems too.

Celtic strike Premier Sports deal - is this the "additional value" we've been waiting for?

He showed in the midweek victory over Norwich City that he’s got the versatility to drop into centre-back as part of a back three, but it looks like he may still be shown the exit doors.

TBR View – Should Arsenal keep Kolasinac?

Kolasinac is still a decent option to have in the squad and certainly not one of the main problems in the Arsenal defence, but with his contract expiring in 2022 it could make sense to cash in on him.

Kieran Tierney was signed from Celtic to become the club’s first-choice left-back and he’s now beginning to show just exactly why that was.

Arteta also has highly-rated versatile star Bukayo Saka to call upon if needed in the full-back area, who has not let down his manager so far.
