According to Calciomercato, Arsenal, Everton and Tottenham Hotspur are all interested in Franck Kessie. AC Milan are keen to move the midfielder on this summer, which could prompt one of the aforementioned Premier League trio to make a move.
However, the 22-year-old will not come cheaply. As per the Calciomercato report, the Serie A outfit will accept no less than €40 million for the 27-cap Ivory Coast international. Given the price, neither Everton or the north London rivals would be wise to take their interest in Kessie any further.
All three clubs have strengthened their midfield areas this summer. Everton have welcomed Fabian Delph and Jean-Philippe Gbamin to Goodison Park. Tanguy Ndombele has swelled the ranks at White Hart Lane. Arsenal, meanwhile, have secured the services of Dani Ceballos, who will feature alongside the likes of Granit Xhaka and Lucas Torreira.
Whilst Kessie is a fine payer, he is not what any of these clubs need now, following the signings they’ve already made this summer. Of course, a powerful, robust midfielder would fit in well at the Emirates Stadium, but the Gunners cannot afford to invest the amount that AC Milan are asking for in this part of the pitch. Unai Emery must instead seek to bolster his backline.
Kessie may well be available, but the timing simply isn’t right for Everton, Arsenal or Spurs to pursue a deal for him.
