Arsenal are the latest club to be linked with a summer move for Brentford forward Said Benrahma, according to The Telegraph.

The 24-year-old has been in fine form for the Bees this season, with Thomas Frank’s team sitting fifth in the Championship.

Benrahma has scored eight goals and registered six assists this season, including a devastating hat-trick at Hull on Saturday.

He has also been linked with both Newcastle and Leicester City (The Sun), although moving to Arsenal would allow him to stay in London.

The Algerian arrived at Griffin Park in 2018 costing the club £1.5 million from Nice (The Sun).

In total he has played 71 games for the Bees, bagging 19 goals and claiming 23 assists.

He is improving season upon season and Premier League suitors are inevitably emerging.

It would appear that the only chance the Bees have of keeping their prized asset is by winning promotion; although even then it may prove tricky.

Arsenal have drawn 13 of their 25 Premier League fixtures this season.

The Gunners are languishing down in tenth place in the top-flight and face the prospect of missing out on European qualification.

It is thought that it could take up to £15 million to sign the man with three caps for Algeria.

TBR View – Benrahma could thrive under Mikel Arteta

Since arriving at Arsenal, talk from Arteta has often focused around changing the mentality.

The Spaniard wants his team to play like the Arsenal of old, with possession football the order of the day.

That could make Benrahma an ideal signing for the Gunners.

Brentford have drawn praise from outsiders this season for their eye-catching brand of football.

Of course, he has never done it in the Premier League but at 24 there is still lots of unearthed potential.

He is quick, tricky and has an eye for a goal. The left-winger could prove a snip at £15 million and he could thrive under Arteta’s stewardship.
