Arsenal are apparently edging ever closer to the signing of Atletico Madrid midfielder, Thomas Partey, with Ghanasoccernet reporting the player’s agent is on his way to London for talks.
The battling midfield star has been consistently linked with a move to the Emirates all summer but has so far seen a move fail to materialise.
However, the latest reports seem to indicate the Gunners are ready to finalise a move, with a 50m euro fee being mentioned to secure Partey’s services.
Reports of Partey moving to north London have continually surfaced. Indeed, Spanish football expert, Guillem Balague claimed yesterday that although Arsenal do want him, a move was unlikely given the fee involved.
But it seems Arsenal are willing to meet the release-clause of Partey and finally land a player they’ve courted for so long.
The Ghanaian midfielder has been hugely influential for Atletico this season. He’s played 39 times in all competitions to help Los Rojos Blancos to another solid season, which has included knocking Liverpool out of Europe.
Arsenal, then, will be delighted if they can finally land their man, with Ghanasoccernet claiming a move is ‘one step away’ from completion now.

At around £45m, it would represent a big outlay by Mikel Arteta but there is little doubting the quality Partey would bring.
Fight, energy, and overall ability in the middle of the park is something Arsenal have lacked for years. The Ghana star could, and probably will, be a brilliant addition.
As the Gunners prepare for next season, the signing of Partey is ideal, on paper at least. It also puts to bed any rumours of no cash at the club, if the mentions of meeting the release-clause are true.
