Report: Arsenal defender Cedric now very close to Fulham move
Cedric Soares is now very close to sealing a move to Fulham, with Tuttomercatoweb in Italy reporting that the Arsenal star appears to have made a decision ahead of the January transfer window.
Cedric seems to be the one first-team player who could leave the Emirates next month. He has only made two substitute appearances for Mikel Arteta’s men in the Premier League this season.
It was Tuttomercatoweb who seemed to initially report last month that his agent was in talks with Fulham, Atletico Madrid and Bayer Leverkusen about a potential deal.

And the Evening Standard then suggested this week that Fulham were about to make a bid to sign the 31-year-old. At that stage, it was not clear whether they would look to sign him permanently straight away, or on a loan deal which comes with an obligation to buy.
It seems that a move is now even closer. According to Tuttomercatoweb, Cedric is now not far away from sealing a switch to Craven Cottage.
Marco Silva has made it clear that he wants the Portuguese. And a decision appears to have made, the report claims. Only some of the financial details need to be ironed out before he leaves the Gunners.
It may disappoint some members of the Arsenal squad if Cedric moves on. His departure is not going to have a huge impact on their performances on the pitch given that he is some way down the pecking order.
But he is a ‘fantastic‘ professional. And if Arsenal did suffer a raft of injuries at full-back, he could have an important role to play.
But it seems to be a move that all parties are getting on board with ahead of the window’s opening.
