Arsenal could let Calum Chambers leave the Emirates this summer, with The Sun reporting that Fulham are interested in signing the 25-year-old.

Chambers has endured a tough time with the Gunners. He has been out since December due to injury.

The Sun notes that he is now back in training and is expected to be back playing before the end of September. But it appears that that appearance against Chelsea back in December may prove to be his last game for Arsenal.

That is because The Sun is suggesting that Fulham want to bring their former loanee back on a permanent basis this summer.

The report claims that Arsenal are likely to allow Chambers to leave, but they want £12 million.

It does appear that a move could work out well for all parties. Chambers unfortunately, has struggled to live up to expectations during his time with the Gunners.

His best year, in fact, came while he was on loan at Craven Cottage. So it is not difficult to see why Scott Parker is keen to bring him back following their promotion.

And Arteta may welcome the boost to his transfer kitty. Arsenal do have plenty of options at the back so can arguably afford to let some of their players go.

Admittedly, he is a player Arteta has previously lauded. In December, he praised his development having actually played alongside him during the latter stages of the Arsenal boss’ playing days.

“He’s come a long way,” he said, as reported by Football London.

“I know him very well because we played together and shared the dressing room here.

“I always liked him with the attitude desire and his willingness to learn, I think he’s come a long way. He seems excited, that’s what I am feeling.”

Nevertheless, if a £12 million bid does come in in the near future, it would not be a big surprise if Arsenal do decide to let the former Southampton man move on.
