Report: Arsenal could place six first-team players on the transfer market

A report from Bleacher Report is suggesting Arsenal’s transfer plans for the summer, including six potential players that could be allowed to leave the club.

The report claims that Arsenal are on the hunt for free transfers and potential swap deals. The club’s recent hiatus from Champions League football and the current global health crisis simply means there is not enough money in the bank for big large scale investments in transfers.

But it does seem as though Mikel Arteta is ready to trim down his current squad.

The report claims that Arsenal have six first-team players who are set to go on the transfer market this summer.

Three potential names are mentioned. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, whose contract expires in 2021, Shkodran Mustafi, who has had an up-and-down career at The Emirates and Matteo Guendouzi, who appears to be less favoured under Arteta.

Who else might be available is something of a sensible guessing game. Sokratis Papastathopoulos has recently been linked with an exit. Sead Kolasinac may no longer be needed considering the club’s current left-back options. The likes of Lucas Torreira, Rob Holding, and Emiliano Martinez would also make sense.

But it does seem as though Arsenal are ready to have something of an overhaul this season, even if they cannot themselves spend big.
