Arsenal are prepared to send a young player to Portugal on loan as part of their bid to bring Joelson to the Emirates this summer, according to a report from the Sunday Mirror (19/7; page 78).
The Sunday Mirror has reported that Arsenal are the first club to make formal contact with the 17-year-old’s agents after he rejected a new contract at Sporting.

Sporting had reportedly hoped to agree a deal that would have seen his buyout clause rise to £70 million. However, the snub means that it remains at £40 million.
That does not appear to have put Arsenal off. But the Sunday Mirror (19/7; page 78) has suggested that the Gunners are not planning to only offer cash for the teenager.

The report has suggested that Mikel Arteta is interested in looking to send a young player to Sporting on loan as part of their bid.
