Arsenal could look to replace Edu with Michael Emenalo, with the Brazilian transfer chief now under pressure at the Emirates Stadium, the Daily Express claim.
Edu on the way out?
Edu has been the man behind Arsenal’s recruitment in recent years, which has been questionable to say the least.
Even this summer Arsenal have spent well over £100 million, but appear to have struggled to really improve their starting line-up.
The additions of Albert Sambi Lokonga and Ben White show signs of promise, but whether they are the sort of players to take the club to the next level remains up for debate.
In trouble after a bad start?
Indeed, Arsenal’s inauspicious start to the season appears to have led the North London club into thinking about whether to replace Edu.
The Express list Emenalo as a potential option that Arsenal are looking at, alongside former player Marc Overmans and Ralph Ragnick.

In terms of experience Emenalo may well be the most appealing option.
He was widely credited for the work he did at Chelsea, which led them to three Premier League titles.
And if Arsenal are to keep hold of Arteta he may well benefit from having an experience older head alongside him to help bring better quality players to the Emirates Stadium.
