Report: Arsenal could make move to re-sign Serge Gnabry
According to 90min, Arsenal are keeping tabs on Serge Gnabry’s contract situation at Bayern Munich and could make a move to sign him this summer.
The German joined the Gunners as a 16-year-old from Stuttgart back in 2011. He was always viewed as an exciting talent, but he never really got the chance to prove his worth at the Emirates.
Gnabry left Arsenal on a permanent deal in 2016 and joined Werder Bremen. Bayern Munich signed him a year later, and he has since gone on to become one of the best wingers in the world.
Arsenal are looking to bring in a wide player this summer, and the report claims that Gnabry is being considered.
Arsenal could make a move to sign Serge Gnabry
Gnabry has just one year left on his contract at Bayern Munich. The German champions have been trying to tie him down to a new deal for a while now, but there just hasn’t been a breakthrough in negotiations.
The report now claims that Arsenal have been keeping a watchful eye on the 26-year-old’s contract situation at the Allianz Arena, and Edu could soon launch an attempt to bring him back to the Emirates.
It has further been suggested that Arsenal are looking at Gnarby after realising that it’s extremely unlikely for them to sign Raphinha from Leeds United this summer.
The Brazilian was reportedly the Gunners’ preferred option, but now that he looks set to join either Chelsea or Barcelona, a move for Gnabry could be an option.
If the Gunners can sign Gnabry, the Gunners should sign Gnabry, it’s as simple as that.
The German, branded as ‘world class’ is among the best wingers in world football. Although his best position is out wide, he can play anywhere across the front three, and his numbers for Bayern have been nothing short of phenomenal.
Gnabry scored 17 goals and provided 10 assists for the Bundesliga giants in all competitions last season, which is a phenomenal return for someone who mostly played on the right flank. He would be a fine signing for most clubs in the world this summer.
Raphinha is a fantastic player in his own right, but Gnabry is on another level compared to the Brazilian. If an opportunity arises for Arsenal to re-sign the German, they should go all out.
