The Athletic reports that Arsenal could make a last minute move to sign Atletico Madrid star Joao Felix in January, providing he remains available.
Mikel Arteta looks set to bolster his attacking options over the course of the month after Gabriel Jesus picked up a knee injury at the World Cup.
Arsenal have been heavily linked with a move for Shahtar Donetsk star Mykhaylo Mudryk, with 90 Min reporting that they are confident they’ll be able to strike a deal for the winger after seeing their opening offer rejected.
But the Gunners are also keeping an eye on Felix’s situation in Madrid as the Portuguese star looks set to leave the Spanish capital this month.

The 23-year-old is attracting interest from a host of Premier League clubs as Atletico are seemingly ready to allow him to leave on loan, while demanding a hefty fee. And Arsenal could yet make a move for Felix at the end of month, providing Atletico lower their demands.
Arsenal could make last minute move for Felix
The Athletic reports that Arsenal are interested in signing Felix this month as they are aware of their lack of depth across the front-three.
The Atletico star is seen as a player who could provide a quality option across Arsenal’s frontline but the Spanish club’s demands are proving problematic.
They are believed to be asking for a package worth around £18.6 million for any interested club to take Felix on loan for the remainder of the season. And at this moment in time, Arsenal feel the price is too high just for a loan deal.
But if the youngster is still looking for a move come the end of January, Arsenal could make their move providing Atletico have lowered their demands by that time.

TBR View: Felix would be brilliant for Arsenal
Felix seems like the perfect fit for Arteta’s side and it would be intriguing to see how he performs in a more attacking side.
The Portuguese forward has often been thwarted by Diego Simeone’s style of football, but he’s a ‘world-class’ talent and could flourish in this Arsenal team.
But £18 million is a hefty fee to pay for a six-month loan deal and Arsenal are rightly reluctant to meet Atletico’s demands. If Felix becomes available for cheaper, it seems like a no-brainer for Arteta as he could give their title hopes a massive boost.
