Arsenal could face a bitter blow in their pursuit of Atletico Madrid midfielder, Thomas Partey, with Gazzetta dello Sport claiming that Juventus are now in the hunt.
The Ghana star, who has 26 caps and nine goals for his country already, is said to be one of the number one targets for Mikel Arteta this summer.
Interest in Partey has been ongoing for some time now. Indeed, back in June, Ghanasoccernet claimed that the Gunners were within touching distance of sealing a deal. However, as we know, things have not progressed since then.
And with Juventus now said to be firmly in the race to sign Partey, Mikel Arteta may well be panicking somewhat. Furthermore, the report from Gazzetta claims Partey is ‘interested’ in a move to Turin.
It’s a huge blow for the Gunners, who had just this week been willing to offer one of three players to Atletico in order to land Partey, according to The Express.

Out of all the signings Arsenal was probably confident about this summer, Partey would have been one who’d have been right up there.
Given how long the situation has dragged on for, it was looking like a case of if and not when for seeing Partey land at The Emirates.
However, Juventus represents a huge challenge. They are a massive club with some of the world’s best players on the books. They are also known for chucking huge wages at players.
Arsenal, then, will be lucky to come out of this one with Partey as part of the squad.
