Report: Arsenal could delay Youri Tielemans move until next summer
Arsenal are considering delaying their move for Youri Tielemans until next summer with the Gunners not prepared to spend £32 million to sign the Belgian during this window, according to a report from Football London.
Tielemans will probably be as surprised as anyone that he remains at Leicester City. He has been linked with a move away throughout the summer.
In fact, reports claimed before the end of last season that Arsenal and Tielemans were confident of finalising a £40 million move. Obviously, that has not taken place so far.
Arsenal have been incredibly pro-active this summer. So it perhaps says plenty that they are yet to push a deal for Tielemans across the line.
Clearly, the issue is Leicester’s asking price for the 24-year-old. His contract expires next summer. Nevertheless, the Foxes want £32 million.
Arsenal have an agreement in place with Tielemans. However, the Gunners do not want to pay so much. And with that, they are now ready to wait until next year when they could sign the midfielder on a free.
Edu is in no rush to complete a deal. But that situation may change should another admirer make a move before the end of this window, Football London reports.

Arsenal are probably making the right call on Tielemans. They are poised in this window and ready to act should someone come in. But they are also comfortable holding fire on a move and waiting until next year.
Obviously, that is not necessarily ideal for this season. He has the potential to be an ‘incredible‘ player. And he wants to make the move.
But it could be a masterstroke if they can enjoy success this season and then land Tielemans for nothing next year.
