Report: Arsenal contact Samuele Ricci’s representatives; Leicester also keen

Arsenal and Leicester City are amongst the Premier League sides to have made contact with the representatives of Samuele Ricci, according to a report from Italian outlet Tuttomercatoweb.

Ricci does not turn 20 until August. However, he has already made over 60 appearances for Empoli’s first-team having made his debut in September 2019.

The midfielder has scored two goals and provided four assists in Serie B this season. And it appears that his form is not going unnoticed elsewhere.

According to Tuttomercatoweb, Arsenal and Leicester are two of the clubs to have made contact with his representatives. It is suggested that a move for the teenager is being considered.

Ricci looks to be an incredibly exciting talent. He offers real composure on the ball, whether he is producing a defence-splitting ball for a teammate or taking a shot on goal.

His passing looks to be a particular strength as he appears to be boast superb vision.

Empoli are unlikely to want let him go on the cheap. They look to be well on their way to sealing promotion to Serie A after two years out of the top flight.

However, Transfermarkt shows that his contract expires in 2022. So they may have little choice but to sell him this summer should he decide that he wishes to leave.
