Arsenal are now confident they will loan out-of-favour winger Nicolas Pepe to Nice before the end of the transfer window.
The Gunners are apparently chasing Pedro Neto from Wolves, who could come in and take Pepe’s spot in the squad.
They are both left-footed wingers who can cut in from the right but Mikel Arteta seems to think Neto would be an upgrade.
The Express say that the Gunners are growing in confidence that a deal will be done and an agreement will be concluded over his wages.

Arsenal confident they can loan Pepe to Nice
The report says Arsenal think Nice will pay a significant chunk of the winger’s wages to take him on a temporary basis for the season.
That underlines an issue that many Premier League sides have when trying to offload their unwanted stars; finding a club who can take on their wages.
It seems Arsenal will still have to pay some of Pepe’s wages but Arteta would likely take that compromise if it means they can get Neto.
Despite being praised by Arteta and lauded as a ‘phenomenal‘ player, it’s a fair assessment to say Pepe hasn’t hit the heights expected since arriving at Arsenal.
He remains the Gunners’ record signing but the club are thought to have come to terms with the fact they won’t be seeing a hefty return on that investment.
Now it is a case of seeing whether a loan move can be completed which would put him in the shop window and potentially get his value back up.
