Report: Arsenal can sign right-back Mazraoui for a bargain, cut-price figure

Arsenal have been linked with a move for Ajax defender Noussair Mazraoui ahead of the summer window. The Gunners are likely to be after a new right-back, with Hector Bellerin reportedly interested Spanish sides. Now, a report from Spain says Mazraoui could leave Ajax for a bargain fee.

Mazraoui, 23, has been in excellent form for Ajax ever since he broke into the first team. Still largely young, the Morocco international surpassed 100 appearances for Erik Ten Hag’s side towards the end of the 20-21 campaign. But now, he has entered the last 12 months of his contract.

Now, Spanish publication Estadio Deportivo say that with Bellerin a target for Real Betis, Mazraoui could be his replacement at Arsenal. While Ajax value Mazraoui at £14.5million, the report says Arsenal could get him for £8.5million due to his contract situation. Bayern Munich are also keen.

Arsenal will struggle to find better value, than Mazraoui at £8.5m

Mazraoui is an excellent defender, first and foremost. He is quick, switched on and defensively sound. Rather than being an attacking right-back that gets goals and assists, he focuses more on protecting his own goal. But he is still more than adept at getting forward and contributing in the final third.

Celtic strike Premier Sports deal - is this the "additional value" we've been waiting for?

During his 102 Ajax outings, Mazraoui has had a hand in 10 goals – scoring five and creating five. Decent stats then, and even more impressive if Arsenal can get him for such a bargain figure of £8.5million. The Gunners can offer more regular football than Bayern too, a no-brainer.
