Report: Arsenal can sign Kante-like Brazilian for just £13m as they eye up their next Martinelli

Arsenal remain in the mix to sign young Brazilian midfielder, Danilo, with the Gunners among a host of European clubs vying for his signature this summer.

The impressive South American star has been tracked by Arsenal for some time already. In fact, it was only a few weeks ago that we reported the Gunners were considering making their approach for Danilo. But since then, things have gone quiet as clubs put their plans in place for the summer.

However, Danilo’s name has been mentioned again by Calciomercato today. They claim that both AC Milan and Juventus are looking to sign him as well, with Arsenal and Benfica still keeping close tabs on things. Interestingly, it is claimed that Palmeiras are holding out for around £13m for Danilo. Of course, that sort of fee is well within Arsenal’s budget, given they are expected to spend big this summer.

Interestingly, that fee would be around double what they paid for Gabi Martinelli (transfermarkt).

TBR’s View: Danilo In The Right Bracket For Arsenal

There is no doubt this signing would fit with what Arsenal are doing. They are signing young players who they can develop and improve and Danilo fits the bill well.

A player who apparently aspires to play and be like N’Golo Kante, Danilo is certainly one to watch. And let’s be right, Arsenal have enjoyed success in the Brazilian market with Martinelli, so you can see why they’re keen to explore it again here.

At just £13m, this could be a snip for the Gunners should they push a deal through.
