Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has reportedly informed defender Sokratis that he isn’t in his plans for the remainder of the player’s contract.
According to football.london, the Spaniard will not be using the Greek rock as a regular in the 2020/21 season, meaning his future could now be in doubt.
Sokratis did not feature once in the Premier League following the resumption of football in June, with David Luiz, Shkodran Mustafi and Sead Kolasinac all preferred.

It could perhaps be suggested that Sokratis’ lack of ball-playing ability may be part of Arteta’s thinking.
football.london say Arteta has told Sokratis – thought to earn £92,000-a-week at the Emirates (Spotrac) – that he does not fit with his tactical style and will not play in significant games under him.
They add that despite this, Sokratis has no intention to leave the club in the current transfer window and will see out his contract, which runs until 2021.
TBR’s View – Sokratis should seek Arsenal exit
With William Saliba coming in, opportunities look as if they are going to be very scarce for Sokratis in 2020/21 if he sticks around.

Arteta also has Calum Chambers to come back, and Rob Holding is also a central option.
It looks as though Arsenal are trying to implement a play out from the back mantra, and Sokratis is noticeably limited in that department, as solid a defender he can be.
It might be within his best interests to seek an exit from the Emirates, with Arteta seemingly particularly determined to improve the Gunners his way.
