Lokonga is likely to be the second player Arsenal sign this transfer window. As reported by the Evening Standard, Benfica defender Nuno Tavares is in London and will have his medical at London Colney once he is out of quarantine as per UK government guidelines.

As per the HLN report, Lokonga did not arrive at Anderlecht for pre-season this week, nor did he take part in media duties for the club.

Arsenal have been keen on signing the youngster since the start of the transfer window. And it now appears that a deal could be announced soon.

Lokonga one of many new signings for Arsenal

Indeed, Arsenal kick-off their pre-season next week when they travel to Scotland. The Gunners will take part in two friendlies against SPL sides Hibernian and Rangers.

Both Tavares and Lokonga will likely be confirmed as signings by the time these two fixtures take place.

As well Tavares and Lokonga, Ben White could also be close to joining Arsenal. As per Sky Sports News, the Gunners are keen on signing the England international. A third bid is set to be submitted for the Brighton and Hove Albion star.

The Gunners are targeting a certain profile of players this summer. With Tavares, Lokonga and White all being young names with the potential to grow into important stars for the Arsenal first-team.

And whilst there is still plenty of work to be done, the Gunners can be applauded for getting business done early in the window and for signing players that should make supporters happy with the Premier League season a month away from starting.
