Arsenal believe that they could be able to convince Martin Odegaard to extend his stay at the Emirates beyond the end of his loan spell, according to a report from The Times.
Odegaard is proving to be an inspired addition for the Gunners. He seemed to make an underwhelming start to life in North London following his arrival in January.

But he has been hugely influential more recently. He has scored two goals in his last four appearances, including one in the North London derby win over Spurs.
According to The Times, Mikel Arteta would now like to keep Odegaard – whether that be on loan or on a permanent basis.

And encouragingly for the Gunners, The Times reports that they believe that Odegaard could be open to staying.
The report notes that he will have two years left on his Real Madrid contract. So Los Blancos may perhaps feel that it is an important summer in terms of getting a better idea of what his long-term future holds.
It would be a huge boost for Arsenal to keep Odegaard. His recent performances have shown why so many have followed his career so closely since he burst onto the scene as a 15-year-old.
And if Madrid are willing to let him go, Arsenal must act.
It appears that Odegaard may not need a lot of persuading to extend his stay.
