Football London report that Arsenal are now ‘close’ to completing a move to sign Brighton defender Ben White, after having a bid accepted. The England international is rated at £50million by Brighton and the report states Arsenal have met that asking price. A deal is now ‘close’ to going through.
White, 23, has wormed his way onto Arsenal’s shortlist after shining for Leeds United during 2019-20 – and then Brighton last term. His ball-playing style and versatility has seemingly attracted Arsenal, who have previously had a £40million bid rejected, as per Football London. Now, a deal is near.
That is because an update from Football London states a fee of £50million has been tabled, and accepted, by Brighton. The report also states that a deal should go through quickly, with White already said to have agreed personal terms with the North London club. Exciting times for Arsenal.

Arsenal transfer news: Is White good value for money at £50m?
It is expensive for a player that has two England caps, with just one season’s experience in the Premier League. But ask any Leeds fan, or Brighton supporter, and they will tell you he is worth every penny. Arsenal do not need a centre-back, but with David Luiz leaving, a replacement is needed.
Not only does he offer plenty of quality at centre-back, but White offers versatility. On the right of a back three, holding midfield and even as a central midfielder. Young, English, versatile and getting better, £50million is a decent fee
