Arsenal are being the most aggressive club in chasing Ben White, the Athletic report.

On the chase

Arsenal have been chasing the Brighton & Hove Albion central defender throughout the summer so far, but interest in rising in his services.

Indeed Brighton have now fielded enquiries for White from other sides.

However, it is Arsenal who are said to be chasing White the hardest.

Their interest is described as ‘aggressive and advanced’, with the Gunners in pole position to sign him.

In a strong position

There have been claims that Arsenal already effectively have sealed the transfer of White.

Those may have been slightly premature, but it still does seem as if they are in a good position.

If White does move to the Emirates Stadium he looks set to become one of their most expensive signings of all time.

That will immediately put pressure on him to impress with Arsenal.

But there are signs that the 23-year-old could progress into an excellent defender.

White is not only a robust centre-back, but he is also very comfortable in possession and could be part of Arsenal’s back-line for the long-term, given his tender years.
