The Daily Mail have claimed that Arsenal and Wolverhampton Wanderers are both interested in a move to sign PSV Eindhoven youngster Noni Madueke – but they are not the only sides looking to nab the 17-year-old.
Madueke, 17, joined PSV in the summer of 2018 from Tottenham Hotspur despite only managing one appearance for Spurs’ Under-18 side after coming through the ranks in north London. He has since shined in the red and white of PSV.
An attacking midfielder, Madueke has six caps for England’s Under-18 side and after shining for PSV’s Under-19’s – where he scored 11 goals in 28 games – and Under-23 side, PSV have promoted Madueke, who can play in the 10 role or out wide.
Left-footed, Madueke has even made his senior debut for PSV this month – coming on for the final 17 minutes of a 1-1 draw with VVV-Venlo. He has a contract until 2021 at PSV, while Leipzig and Valencia are also interested.
TBR’s view – Enormous potential, Madueke would be a top signing
For either club. Madueke will be looking at Arsenal’s side and will be impressed at the amount of young talent coming through the ranks in the form of Reiss Nelson, Emile Smith-Rowe, Joe Willock, Eddie Nketiah and Bukayo Saka.
Wolves need depth with a lengthy Europa League campaign and have brought through young players over the last two seasons. Madueke would surely get game time at either side, and would be an excellent signing for any English side.
