Report: Arsenal and Real Madrid locked in talks over permanent Dani Ceballos move

Dani Ceballos is on a season-long loan.

Arsenal and Real Madrid are already discussing a potential permanent deal to take Dani Ceballos to The Emirates Stadium, according to Spanish media outlet El Confidencial.

This report claims that Arsenal could follow Chelsea’s example with Mateo Kovacic. Chelsea signed Kovacic on loan in summer 2018 before making his move permanent in summer 2019.

Ceballos penned a season-long loan deal at Arsenal in the summer and this could be made permanent at the end of the season. Arsenal and Real Madrid are negotiating this potential transfer.

The Spain international has now played 11 games for the Gunners. He scored his first goal against Standard Liege in the Europa League and has two assists to his name so far.

Ceballos appears to be happy at Arsenal, rotating with the likes of Joe Willock, Lucas Torreira and Matteo Guendouzi in Emery’s midfield. This move could become permanent in the summer if Arsenal and Real Madrid can come to an agreement.

TBR’s view

This seems to be an arrangement that works for all parties. Ceballos’ future at Real Madrid seems bleak. Therefore, a permanent move to Arsenal would benefit him and both clubs – at the right price.

Ceballos has already looked impressive in England and he is still getting up to speed with the Premier League game. With more time, he could become a key player for the Gunners.
