Arsenal and Liverpool are amongst the sides to have also shown interest in Mateo Fernandez, with the Daily Mail reporting that Leeds United are growing confident of a deal for the striker.
Fernandez is attracting attention from a host of European heavyweights. The 17-year-old has a release clause of £1.2 million with Espanyol.

His deal runs until next summer. So it would certainly appear that the starlet is set to be on the move before too long.
According to the Daily Mail, Barcelona, Liverpool and Arsenal have shown interest in Fernandez. Meanwhile, Manchester City are also looking at the teenager.

But Leeds appear to be leading the charge for the starlet’s signature.
The Daily Mail reports that the Whites are growing hopeful of striking a January deal for Fernandez. It is noted that they are hoping to reach a compromise that sees them pay less than his release clause.
Another real coup for Leeds should they sign Mateo Fernandez
Leeds have done some amazing work when it comes to recruiting young players in recent years.
The likes of Joe Gelhardt, Sam Greenwood and Crysencio Summerville all look destined for key roles at Elland Road in the years to come.
And signing Fernandez would seemingly be another real coup.
Clearly, he looks to have an incredibly bright future ahead. It says a lot that clubs such as Liverpool, Arsenal, Manchester City and Barcelona have all shown interest.
It would be a real statement therefore, if Leeds could now bring him to Yorkshire in the months ahead.
