Both Arsenal and Leicester City could miss out on one of their reported targets, with AC Milan eyeing a move for Porto ace, Otavio.

The Express claimed back in January that both Arsenal and The Foxes were keeping a close eye on Otavio. The midfielder, 25, is free to leave Porto this summer and doesn’t look likely to sign a new deal.

However, Corriere dello Sport now claim that Milan are looking at making a serious move for Otavio, along with another Leicester target in Florian Thauvin.

It’s claimed both players are wanting deals worth around £50k-a-week and that Milan, under the guidance of Paulo Maldini, could well be prepared to sanction those moves to land the pair this summer.

Otavio has developed a reputation in Portugal as being a feisty yet creative midfield player. The  Brazilian hit double figures in assists last season, however, he also hit a similar figure in terms of yellow cards.

Arsenal could well revisit their interest in Otavio one would imagine, especially if Martin Odegaard does indeed go back to Madrid.

Getting top players through the door for nothing is a skill and Otavio is certainly going to be one of the best freebies this summer.

A Brazilian midfielder heading into the prime years of his career will always garner interest. For Arsenal, with money not exactly overflowing from their pockets, he could be a good option.

However, Milan do look like they’ve made the first move here, so the Gunners will need to be quick to land Otavio if they do want him.
