French website RMC Sport have claimed that Arsenal and Leicester City join a long list of clubs to have been rejected by French teenager Adil Aouchiche this summer, with the attacker opting to join Ligue 1 side St. Etienne.
Aouchiche, who turned 18 on Wednesday, is one of a number of players who have seen their contracts expire at Paris Saint-Germain. Edinson Cavani, Thomas Meunier, Thiago Silva and Tanguy Kouassi are in the same boat.
The France Under-18 international chose to leave PSG despite being offered a new deal – after clocking up his first senior outings this season under Thomas Tuchel. Arsenal and Leicester tabled bids to lure Aouchiche to England.
They joined Lille, Bayer Leverkusen, Bayern Munich, Barcelona and Rennes in making offers for Aouchiche. But it is claimed that Aouchiche has chosen to join Les Verts – with St. Etienne boss Claude Puel winning the race.

TBR’s view – Aouchiche an exciting talent, huge resale value
A stunning talent and only just turned 18, Aouchiche has the potential to become one of the best players in the world. Whether his attitude and commitment matches that remains to be seen.
The fact Barcelona and Bayern tabled offers for Aouchiche is proof that he can become a world beater. Arsenal and Leicester will be gutted to have missed out – and he will cost a fortune if they try to sign him in years to come.
