Arsenal and Chelsea could make bids for Bayern Munich youngster Chris Richards this summer, according to a report from Bild.
Richards is winning admirers while playing for the Bavarian’s second team. However, it appears that he could be tempted to consider his future should his situation not change.
According to Bild, the 19-year-old is yet to receive a call-up to the first-team by Hansi Flick. And that has prompted the likes of Arsenal and Chelsea to monitor his situation.
Bild notes that the Premier League pair could make bids for the youngster this summer. Meanwhile, Barcelona and Valencia are also interested.
The report suggests that Richards could consider a move if he is not promoted. But it is claimed that the decision-makers at Bayern remain optimistic about his future.
TBR View – Arsenal and Chelsea could present exciting opportunities for Richards if he decides to leave
Based on the report, it does appear most likely that Richards will stay in Munich. He may be tempted to try his luck elsewhere, but he will surely be wary of ending up in a similar situation at another club.
But if he did decide to leave, a move to either Arsenal or Chelsea could be tempting.
Both Mikel Arteta and Frank Lampard have used a number of young players this season. So Richards will know that the paths to their respective first-teams are there.
But with Bayern reportedly having high hopes for the American, it seems difficult to imagine him choosing to move on at this stage.
