Arsenal and Everton are amongst the sides to have taken a look at Swansea City’s Joe Rodon over the last 18 months, but the Daily Mail is reporting that it is Manchester City who are considering a move for the 22-year-old.

Rodon has continued to impress under Steve Cooper this season having enjoyed a breakout campaign under Graham Potter last year. He has made 15 Championship appearances for the Swans this season.

The Daily Mail reports that he has been likened to John Stones. So perhaps it should be absolutely no surprise that a number of Premier League sides have taken an interest in his progress.

The Daily Mail reports that Arsenal, Everton, Chelsea, Bournemouth and Leicester City have all scouted Rodon over the last year and a half.

Meanwhile, the report suggests that the Cityzens are interested as Pep Guardiola targets two new centre-backs this summer.

TBR View – Arsenal must step up interest this summer

Arsenal have made improvements at the back since Mikel Arteta arrived. Nevertheless, it would not be a big surprise to see some changes take place this summer.

William Saliba should link up with the Gunners following his 2019 move. And perhaps, Arteta should look to add Rodon to his ranks.

The Wales international is good on the ball. And at 6 foot 4 inches, he is not going to be bullied in the air by many.

And if Swansea do not get promoted this season, he could arguably prove to be a very shrewd addition for Arteta’s men.

However, judging by the latest reports, they may have to battle Arteta’s former boss for his signature.
