Arsenal bolstered their ranks on Saturday with the arrival of Nuno Tavares.

And he could well be the first of several new recruits joining in a short space of time.

According to football.london, Edu and Mikel Arteta will now turn their attention to two players in particular.

The first one of these is Anderlecht midfielder Albert Sambi Lokonga.

Indeed, Arsenal are reportedly on the verge of signing the 21-year-old.

La Derniere Heure have reported that Lokonga has passed his medical.

Lokonga is apparently joining Arsenal for a fee which could total £18million.

And the second player is Brighton and England defender Ben White, reportedly valued at £50million.

The Gunners are apparently optimistic about landing the 23-year-old despite having had two bids rejected, the latter for £45milion.

According to football.london, the deal should be able to be completed before the season starts next month.

White is keen on joining the Gunners, added the report.

Lokonga is an energetic, box-to-box midfielder, is great at linking up play and isn’t afraid to weigh in with a strong tackle.

He is also comfortable in possession, boasting a passing accuracy of 85 per cent last season (Daily Mail).

Lokonga has already captained Anderlecht, has made 78 competitive appearances, and has been named in a Belgium matchday squad.

In the space of two years, White has gone from a talented prospect at a modest club to one of English football’s best young centre-backs.

He joined Leeds United on loan in 2019 and, despite having no prior experience in England’s top two league, he was sensational.

White featured in every one of their Championship games and helped them win the title.

The player has since become a regular for the Seagulls, making 36 Premier League appearances last term.
