Report: Arsenal agree transfer to sell 'amazing' player for £25m
Arsenal have agreed a £25 million deal with Newcastle United to sell Joe Willock, 90 Mins report.
Arsenal and Newcastle have been in discussions for Willock for much of the season.
And it is now claimed that a deal has been agreed in principle between the pair.
If that is to be the case then it could suit both Newcastle and Arsenal.
Arsenal are looking to raise funds from their fringe players, and Newcastle appear to be willing to invest a sizeable amount to sign the midfielder.
The Magpies will also be delighted about landing Willock on a permanent move, as he impressed hugely on a loan spell at St. James’ Park last term.
The problem right now is that Willock has not yet decided whether Newcastle is the right place for him long term.
Despite his success at Newcastle on loan, Steve Bruce’s side have not shown a great deal of ambition this summer.
And it would be understandable if Willock wanted to stick around at Arsenal and fight for his place.
Arsenal lacked a goalscoring midfielder throughout the previous campaign, and if Mikel Arteta was to give Willock a chance he may just have the attributes to force his way into the team.
