Report: Arsenal agree to pay £50m for Brighton's Ben White
Arsenal have agreed to pay £50m for Brighton and England defender Ben White, with a deal now close to being completed.
That’s according to an exclusive report this evening from the Sun. They claim that Arsenal have agreed to pay the £50m in full, after upping their initial offers in recent days.
White’s arrival will bring to an end one of the longest running transfer sagas of the summer so far. The young defender is highly regarded by Mikel Arteta, and will be expected to go straight into the starting XI.
The Brighton man is also thought to have been keen to make the move to the Gunners. Further, Arsenal are also said to have fought off late interest from Chelsea to land White.
Arsenal’s £50m outlay will be under the microscope, given they’ve just allowed William Saliba out on loan. However, White is highly rated, and enjoyed a stellar season with the Seagulls last term.
It looks like Arsenal can now rest easy with White looking a done deal.
Personal terms won’t be a problem and Arsenal will be getting a defender who should be a regular for years to come. They’re also getting a quality operator.
And you have to give credence to Edu here. The Brazilian is a busy man this summer but landing White was key. It appears he has done that.
