Arsenal have agreed an option with Cedric Soares that could see the Southampton full-back sign a four-year permanent deal at the Emirates in the summer, according to a report from The Telegraph.
Mikel Arteta appears to be closing in on making his second signing of the window.

The Telegraph reports that the Portuguese is set to join the Gunners on loan for the rest of the campaign.
The report notes that Arsenal will pay less than £1 million as a loan fee for the 28-year-old.

But it appears that they have also reached an agreement that could lead to a more long-term move for the defender.
According to a report from The Telegraph, Arsenal have the option to sign Cedric to a four-year contract at the end of the season.
TBR View – Southampton fans may be surprised by four-year deal reports
With Kyle Walker-Peters joining the Saints this month, the St Mary’s faithful may not be surprised by Cedric’s departure.
What may catch them by surprise however, is the suggestion that he could end up with a four-year deal at the Emirates.
On his day, he is an excellent player. And he is capable of playing on either flank if required. However, his form has been inconsistent.
A loan move to the Emirates looks to make a lot of sense. Arteta can take a much closer look at Cedric before deciding whether he should stay beyond this season.
But a four-year deal still looks to be something of a gamble for a player who seemed to divide a lot of Southampton supporters during his stay on the south coast.
