Fiorentina are hoping to negotiate a discount on the fee that they need to pay to keep Arsenal midfielder Lucas Torreira permanently, according to a report from Tuttomercatoweb.
Torreira looks to be getting his career back on track after joining La Viola on loan in the summer.

He has made nine appearances in Serie A, having been an unused substitute in two of his first three games with the club.
It was reported that the Uruguayan’s agent had held talks with Fiorentina about Torreira on Wednesday. And it was suggested that the Italian club would trigger the option to keep him permanently.

However, a move may not be that simple. Tuttomercatoweb is now reporting that they actually want a discount on the £13 million fee agreed when he left on loan in the summer.
It is noted that a compromise with the Gunners ‘appears inevitable’. So it would seem that Torreira is still likely to secure a permanent move away.
Selling Torreira for less than £13m may not sit right with Arsenal fans
Torreira looks to have played his final game for Arsenal. It has been apparent for some time that Mikel Arteta has no plans for him.
So a permanent sale makes sense for all parties. However, fans may be a little disappointed if he goes for less than £13 million.
He was a popular figure amongst supporters while at the Emirates. Plenty implored Unai Emery, in particular, to use him more.
It is not the best piece of business if he goes for less than £13 million. He is doing well in Florence. And he is only just rediscovering his full sharpness.
Nevertheless, the discount Fiorentina are looking for is reportedly ‘inevitable’.
