GhanaSoccerNet have claimed that Anderlecht are ready to cash in on teenage winger Jeremy Doku this summer and will accept offers worth £17.6million – with Liverpool linked with a move of late.

Doku, 17, has been enjoying a breakthrough season with Vincent Kompany’s Anderlecht. The Belgium Under-21 international has had a hand in seven goals during his 24 league and cup outings for Anderlecht’s senior side.

Indeed, Doku has scored four goals and laid on three assists – including a brace in Anderlecht’s last league outing which resulted in a 7-0 win over Zulte Waregem. That has caught the attention of some of Europe’s biggest clubs.

The report claims AC Milan want Doku, who has a contract until the summer of 2022. Last month, Belgian website Het Nieuwsblad claimed Liverpool were planning a move to sign Doku in 2021 – but that could be fast-tracked this summer.

TalkSPORT reported that Klopp tried to sign Doku when he was 16, and now may be able to finally do so.

TBR’s view – Signing Doku and then loaning him back best for everyone

Doku is enjoying his time in Anderlecht’s first team and that exposure has been key to his growth. A move to Liverpool would completely rid the youngster of any chance of regular game time, given the likes of Mo Salah and Sadio Mane.

Landing him on a permanent basis and loaning him back to a side that also boasts Samir Nasri, Kemar Roofe and Nacer Chadli is crucial. It would see Liverpool land the exciting target, but his development continue to curve in the right direction.
