Carlo Ancelotti has told Marcel Brands that he wants a new, top class goalkeeper at Everton who is able to put pressure on, and rival, Jordan Pickford, according to a report from The Sun.
It appears that Ancelotti is planning a significant clear-out at Goodison Park. The new Toffees boss has lost his last two games – admittedly narrowly after facing Manchester City and Liverpool – and it seems that he has made his mind up on a number of players.

The Sun suggests that a number of first-team players are set to be given the green light to leave. Pickford is not one of the names on the list, but it appears that his future could also become uncertain.
The Sun reports that Ancelotti has told Brands that he wants a new goalkeeper. And it is suggested that he wants a stopper who is good enough to challenge Pickford.

TBR View – Goalkeeper signing could be best for all parties…including Pickford
There is no question that Pickford has incredible potential and is capable of colossal performances. But he has also come in for plenty of criticism during his time at Goodison Park.
And you could understand why Everton fans may wonder whether the lack of top-class back-up is one of the reasons why Pickford does disappoint sometimes.
Of course, it is not easy to sign a second-choice goalkeeper capable of applying that sort of pressure. But it may be best for everyone, including Pickford, if Ancelotti gets his wish.
Pushing Pickford could be a masterstroke. If it brings the best out of the England international, the Toffees have a world-class player in their side.
And if he is not able to raise his game, the Everton boss has another option to put his confidence in.
