Arsenal have taken Colorado Rapids teen Cole Bassett on trial for one week, according to The Denver Post.
Bassett will train with Arsenal over the international break. The 18-year-old arrived on Monday and has already teamed up with the U23 team for some training sessions.
In pre-season, Arsenal played Colorado Rapids and Bassett clearly caught the eye. The teenage midfielder, who played 20 games and scored twice in his debut season in the MLS, now has the chance to impress the Gunners during his week-long trial.
Bassett on Arsenal trial

Bassett is unsurprisingly very excited to join up with Arsenal over the international break. He told The Denver Post: “As most people already know, this is my favourite club.
“I don’t know which team it will be because it’s an international break for them. Hopefully, there will be a couple of guys missing with the first team and I can get with them. But I’m just excited to get over there and show up basically.”
TBR’s view
Despite his young age, Bassett is already playing senior football and this shows that he is a promising talent for the future. The American youngster can test just how good he is against some of Arsenal’s best talents this week.
Quite a few Arsenal players will be away on international duty but some will remain behind. It is a brilliant experience for Bassett, even if he does not earn a contract at the end of the week.
