Nottingham Forest want to sign Japhet Tanganga from Tottenham Hotspur but the asking price is currently too high.
The Daily Mail report that the Englishman is the latest man that Forest are eyeing as they continue their extensive summer of recruitment.
Steve Cooper is now eyeing a move for the 23-year-old after an injury sustained by Moussa Niakhate, who also arrived this summer.
Tanganga also has interest from Italian champions AC Milan but that deal has been rumbling on for weeks and is still not done.

Forest want Tanganga
Forest have now made contact and enquired about the defender but Tottenham currently want a fee of around £17million.
But the report says that asking price is too much for Forest as it stands, after a summer where they have made 16 signings so far.
It remains to be seen whether Spurs will budge, and they have clearly been patient and unwilling to flinch in their negotiations with Milan.
Tanganga was hailed as ‘amazing‘ by Jose Mourinho but his career has stalled somewhat at Tottenham under Antonio Conte.
He needs to get out there and play games, and it seems he has at least two very different prospects on the table if a deal can be done.
But at the moment, it seems Spurs may well be pricing him out of a move and it remains to be seen if he will move before the deadline.
