Ezgjan Alioski is reportedly close to signing for Turkish giants Fenerbahce following his release from Leeds United last week.

According to Turkish publication Ajansspor, the 29-year-old defender is a target for multiple clubs in the Turkish Super Lig since leaving Leeds.

And as things stand, Fenerbahce are in the lead to sign the North Macedonia international. Alioski competed in this summer’s Euro 2020 competition.

The 19-time Turkish league champions are keen to sign a left-back this summer. Arsenal defender Sead Kolasinac has been rumoured with a move to the Istanbul side in recent weeks.

However, it appears that Fener have decided on Alioski to fill this role ahead of next season. Vitor Pereira’s finished last campaign in third place, qualifying for the UEFA Europa League play-offs.

Alioski spent four years with Leeds and made 170 appearances for the club.

Yet despite featuring heavily for Leeds last season in the Premier League, the defender left Yorkshire following the expiration of his contract.

The Whites have already moved quickly to replace the left-back this summer, as well.

Leeds confirmed the signing of FC Barcelona fullback Junior Firpo earlier in the month, and Marcelo Bielsa will be keen to add more quality to the squad in the window.
