Report: Alexandre Lacazette will return to Arsenal training next week

Alexandre Lacazette will return to full Arsenal training next week having been recovering from an ankle injury.

The Frenchman has been sidelined since for the last six weeks with the issue and has been wearing a protective boot, but ESPN report he is now set to be involved with the first-team again having been hard at work alone with one of the club’s physios in recent weeks.

ESPN add that he could be in contention to feature against Sheffield United in the club’s next Premier League match.

The news will come as a major boost for the Gunners, who haven’t quite hit top gear yet in attack.

That said, Unai Emery’s side haven’t missed Lacazette too much, having won four games and drawn two since his last appearance against Tottenham Hotspur on September 1.

TBR’s view

Lacazette coming back into the side could be the catalyst for Arsenal to really kick on after the international break.

The £46.5 million signing from Lyon (BBC Sport) is probably Arsenal’s most creative player in the final third and he has the ability and intelligence to bring everything together up top.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has led the line well in his absence and scored a few goals, but the Arsenal attack seems more dangerous with the Gabon international coming in to support from the left – it hardly seems to affect his rate of goalscoring – and Lacazette central.
